An Orewa College volleyball squad is celebrating after netting “the perfect season”.
The Junior A Boys Volleyball squad, coached by teacher Craig Ashton, played – and won – all 35 games of their season.
The flawless run won the boys the North Island Secondary School Championships – the second North Island title in three years for the school – and the North Harbour and Auckland Championships.
“It caps of a great year for Orewa Boys Volleyball, which was the highest achieving program in the country this year,” Ashton said.
“It’s pretty rare to have a team winning all of their tournaments and competitions – they’re one of the most dominant [sports] sides the school has ever had.”
